The ‘Election’ is Settled

Reflection Writings · January 20, 2021

Chuck Pierce, one of the foremost prophetic voices of this day, had a Word from the LORD years in advance of the 2021 Election that it would not be settled until January 18.

As it happens, this falls on the date we celebrate the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s work. Dr. King was an early advocate for Unity and Peace between all humanity! Precisely the type that comes from a ‘Settled Election!’

Of course I’m talking about a specific kind of ‘Election’ — the Election of all God’s Created ones to know of their ‘Choosing.’ We are Made for True Life, Liberty from sin, and the Happiness resulting from Purposeful Living. This is ‘The Calling’ of everyone — to Know the Love of God for themselves and for all people. This ‘Election’ God has ‘Certified’ through the Provision of an Open Door to Relationship with Him!

My heart says, let’s be sure the ‘Election’ of All God’s Creation is absolutely Settled!

Biblically speaking there is potential for misunderstanding over the issue of ‘Election.’
Does God only ‘Call’ some? Are there those who are ‘Chosen’ or ‘Favored’ and those who are not? The answer is Yes and No — or better No and Yes.

Let me clarify, “The Election of all God’s Created to Be Saints of Light on earth is Settled.” Every person, none left out has been ‘Saved’ by the Work of God through Jesus. All people’s sin has been covered so that we can all Seek and Have a Relationship of Unity with the living LORD God.

The issue is many do not appear to know this. We don’t seem to know the Father God sent His Son to Live and Die and Live Again for us — all of us! So then consequently, we may think only some are the Chosen, or those set apart for God’s Favor and Blessing. This is not God’s choice, it is ours.

Let’s take a look at Scripture.

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. 1 John 2 : 1-6

At issue is Knowing the Son Jesus who God sent, and Knowing Truth. We are all Called from darkness and from not Knowing the Spirit of God with us and in us — to Awaken to Life with Christ. We are Saved from separation to ‘walk in the same manner Jesus walked.’ In other words, to Live in the same way Jesus Lived. As we Choose to seek and accept the Presence of Christ within us believing in Truth, and we Know the Living Word Jesus was, we Realize God’s Move to Love us is awaiting a Response. God Sent His Son so that we would not perish but Have Eternal Life. God by His Spirit is the Law, The Truth and Word with us awaiting acknowledgement. He is the Eternal Spirit in us, waiting to Make Himself Known!

Today we are all Called to Know the Father God, the Spirit who is living Word within us and hearing Him, to Follow His Instruction and Live the Life of Freedom we are Created to Live! Eternally, the Word within humanity has ‘Given humanity Life.’ This means we have been and are able to Know the Voice of the LORD God within us teaching, guiding, mentoring and tutoring us into a Life of Purpose and Prosperity.

From the earliest ages, under the Old Covenant the Choice has been Life or Death. Life with the Presence of God leading, or death separated from Him. The issue was only the Circumcised Jew (Remnant) or the occasional ‘Alien’ really Knew this Salvation. Today, everyone, all God’s Created have been invited to Know and Hear Him.

So let’s look at the baseline. Life and Blessings, Death and the Curse were and are the clear choices. Reading Deuteronomy 28-30 we can see this. The Truth of it in practice may have been missed. It is hard to ‘See it in this world.’ Nonetheless, hear the Promise:

But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. “See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it…
So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” Deuteronomy 30 : 14-20 partial.

The Promise of Blessing, and God’s Favor comes to us as a result of Obedience. It stands to reason then, if don’t Know we are Called to Hear and Listen we’ll miss out on the Best Life Good has for us to Experience! I think today, God is Making ‘Certain’ we Know our Potential in Christ and the consequences for ignoring Him — in whole or in part. He is Looking for ‘All In’ Believers! Covenant Keepers who will Make Him Known.

Over and over we are Called to ‘Keep Covenant.’ We are ‘Elected’, ‘Chosen through Christ.’ Today we know the Covenant is described as the ‘New and Living Way.’ God has sent Jesus, canceled the debt of sin and Opened the door of Kingdom Living to all.

But, the Choice remains. Will we Seek the LORD and His Righteousness first? Will we prioritize God? Will we Walk in the same manner Jesus Walked? Will we Live as He Lived? Or will we continue to experience Wandering and Wrath? God’s Wrath is real. It brings on doubt and fear, chaos and confusion, fighting and dissension, strife and ultimately cultural demise. It seems to me — the Choice is Clear!

The Open Door to God was established for all people through the Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. The Son who was the Perfecter of Faith, the One who Made Known how to Live in Relationship with God and how to Walk by the Spirit or in Covenant Responsiveness, ‘opened’ the Way for All to Enter the Veil or to Enter into Kingdom Relationship with the Holy God.
Scripture says this: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.” This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them.So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. John 10 : 1-15
This means Jesus was the Atoning Sacrifice that made it possible for all people to Come into Relationship with God personally! Jesus paid the ‘price’ for all human sin. By this, He enacted a Change in Covenant. Today all people can Know and Experience Life with Christ in God by Realizing Truth and Seeking out a Personal Relationship with the LORD — most safely through Jesus.
God is the LORD who will rid us of sin and Establish us as His Disciples! He will Purify our hearts and bring us into Being our Best Selves as we allow Him to Transform us. Transformation to a Favored Child of God is the Objective of one who Seeks to Follow the Example of the Lord Jesus. We are all ‘Elected.’ We are all Gifted with the Open Door, but few have truly found their Way into Kingdom Living.
Today, let your Response to God be different. Allow Him to mold and shape you as His Ambassador of Faith. In this you’ll Receive the Benefits and Blessings of Being a ‘Certified’ Child of the Holy God!
We are ‘Saved’ from separation or exile from God. We are ‘Saved’ from the penalty of sin. No longer is anyone excluded from the LORD, we can all Know Him with us and in us through the Spiritual Presence of His Living Word, and His Power.
Now we know why Scripture teaches us:
But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.
In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following. But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. 1 Timothy 4 : 1-10
The Living LORD our God has saved all from the penalty of sin through the Redemption He provided in and through Jesus. But, if we do not comprehend this and Know the Saving Relationship of Sanctification that He Seeks to have with us we miss out on the Best of His Intention. Jesus died for us to Live a Life of Reconciliation and Righteousness.
From Scripture:
For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5 : 14-21
If this sounds like a puzzle it is. We have to really think about Truth to understand what God is saying. In the end, Truth is Spiritually discerned. There lies the problem and perhaps explains why there is so much bickering between people of faith.
Jesus in His Human form as the Son of Man was Filled with Spirit of God who spoke through Him. In that way Jesus was the Word made flesh. He was the ‘Speaking Presence’ of the Holy God. A House of God’s Spirit.
God Seeks to Fill each one of us so that we Become Houses of Truth. By the Lovingkindness that was and is the Grace of God full in Him, as Jesus Spoke it was the Word who is God that we heard.
For more on this read: Jesus in you is the Word Giving Life.
Once we understand the the Word within us as the Spirit, Truth and Power written into the very fabric of who we are, we can more readily discern some of the ways God speaks to us. He is the Voice of Truth often heard in a thought, or perhaps seen in a mind picture, or even discerned through a ‘Sense or Perception.’
Learning to reliably Recognize the Presence of God is greatly enhanced by a Knowledge of the Written Word. God will never act against the Truth outlined in Scripture. He is Truth which is the Sum of Word.
The Promise of Scripture today which is applicable to all people is based on the “New Covenant” enacted by and through Jesus. Here is Truth:
“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God,
and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Jeremiah 31 : 33-34
The New Covenant or the ‘New and Living Way’ was ‘enacted’ by the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. You can read about this in Hebrews 8-10.
It is a better Promise as while it still requires Knowing God and the Word within us, and allowing the Spirit of God to Guide us and Speak to us, it includes the benefits of Christ Jesus’ Atonement.
By Choosing to accept the Work of God accomplished through Jesus, we have His Forgiveness for our Sin alongside of His Grace and Empowerment!
Additionally, since the Spirit of the Lord Jesus and the Father God are United, we have the Mediation of the Son working on our behalf! That is Good News!
Truly we have all we need to Grow in our Salvation and Become the Father God’s Ambassadors of Reconciliation demonstrating Righteousness Learned from Him.
It should be noted that Learning from Him is important. Righteousness we are living on our own accord may well be Self-Righteousness or even Religious Rule Following which has always been a problem.
For some notes on this read Romans 10-11.
The bottom line is this. All people are Invited and Called — Chosen in one sense, to Know God with us and Live Responsively to Him. He teaches us that denial of His Spirit is Apostasy and will result in His Wrath.
Our ‘Election’ to Become Children of God who Know Him and Live to Become Like Him or to become Reflections of His Image in the world is ‘Certified.’
Now let us make sure we Seek the LORD that we might Know His Favor and Blessing. Then we’ll be Called and also ‘Chosen’ because He has Sanctified and Grown us to ‘Attend the Wedding.’
It is God who does His Works in us and through us, but it is our job to Believe the Truth Jesus was and Seek the Spirit’s Presence! In this nothing will ever be the same again!

Deuteronomy 28-30

Blessings at Gerizim

28 “Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the Lord your God:
3 “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
4 “Blessed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your beasts, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock.
5 “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
7 “The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways. 8 The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you. 9 The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 So all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will be afraid of you. 11 The Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your beast and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 The Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully, 14 and do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Consequences of Disobedience

15 “But it shall come about, if you do not obey the Lord your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
17 “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
18 “Cursed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock.
19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
20 “The Lord will send upon you curses, confusion, and rebuke, in all you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken Me. 21 The Lord will make the pestilence cling to you until He has consumed you from the land where you are entering to possess it. 22 The Lord will smite you with consumption and with fever and with inflammation and with fiery heat and with the sword and with blight and with mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish. 23 The heaven which is over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you, iron. 24 The Lord will make the rain of your land powder and dust; from heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.
25 “The Lord shall cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you will go out one way against them, but you will flee seven ways before them, and you will be an example of terror to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 Your carcasses will be food to all birds of the sky and to the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away.
27 “The Lord will smite you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scab and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed. 28 The Lord will smite you with madness and with blindness and with bewilderment of heart; 29 and you will grope at noon, as the blind man gropes in darkness, and you will not prosper in your ways; but you shall only be oppressed and robbed continually, with none to save you. 30 You shall betroth a wife, but another man will violate her; you shall build a house, but you will not live in it; you shall plant a vineyard, but you will not use its fruit. 31 Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will not eat of it; your donkey shall be torn away from you, and will not be restored to you; your sheep shall be given to your enemies, and you will have none to save you. 32 Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, while your eyes look on and yearn for them continually; but there will be nothing you can do. 33 A people whom you do not know shall eat up the produce of your ground and all your labors, and you will never be anything but oppressed and crushed continually. 34 You shall be driven mad by the sight of what you see. 35 The Lord will strike you on the knees and legs with sore boils, from which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head. 36 The Lord will bring you and your king, whom you set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone. 37 You shall become a horror, a proverb, and a taunt among all the people where the Lord drives you.
38 “You shall bring out much seed to the field but you will gather in little, for the locust will consume it. 39 You shall plant and cultivate vineyards, but you will neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm will devour them. 40 You shall have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off. 41 You shall have sons and daughters but they will not be yours, for they will go into captivity. 42 The cricket shall possess all your trees and the produce of your ground. 43 The alien who is among you shall rise above you higher and higher, but you will go down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you will not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you will be the tail.
45 “So all these curses shall come on you and pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, because you would not obey the Lord your God by keeping His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. 46 They shall become a sign and a wonder on you and your descendants forever.
47 “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things; 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in the lack of all things; and He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.
49 “The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle swoops down, a nation whose language you shall not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance who will have no respect for the old, nor show favor to the young. 51 Moreover, it shall eat the offspring of your herd and the produce of your ground until you are destroyed, who also leaves you no grain, new wine, or oil, nor the increase of your herd or the young of your flock until they have caused you to perish. 52 It shall besiege you in all your towns until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout your land, and it shall besiege you in all your towns throughout your land which the Lord your God has given you. 53 Then you shall eat the offspring of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters whom the Lord your God has given you, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will oppress you. 54 The man who is refined and very delicate among you shall be hostile toward his brother and toward the wife he cherishes and toward the rest of his children who remain, 55 so that he will not give even one of them any of the flesh of his children which he will eat, since he has nothing else left, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will oppress you in all your towns. 56 The refined and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground for delicateness and refinement, shall be hostile toward the husband she cherishes and toward her son and daughter, 57 and toward her afterbirth which issues from between her legs and toward her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of anything else, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will oppress you in your towns.
58 “If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honored and awesome name, the Lord your God, 59 then the Lord will bring extraordinary plagues on you and your descendants, even severe and lasting plagues, and miserable and chronic sicknesses. 60 He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt of which you were afraid, and they will cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague which, not written in the book of this law, the Lord will bring on you until you are destroyed. 62 Then you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not obey the Lord your God. 63 It shall come about that as the Lord delighted over you to prosper you, and multiply you, so the Lord will delight over you to make you perish and destroy you; and you will be torn from the land where you are entering to possess it. 64 Moreover, the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known. 65 Among those nations you shall find no rest, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul. 66 So your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you will be in dread night and day, and shall have no assurance of your life. 67 In the morning you shall say, ‘Would that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Would that it were morning!’ because of the dread of your heart which you dread, and for the sight of your eyes which you will see. 68 The Lord will bring you back to Egypt in ships, by the way about which I spoke to you, ‘You will never see it again!’ And there you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.”

The Covenant in Moab

29 These are the words of the covenant which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which He had made with them at Horeb.
2 And Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “You have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh and all his servants and all his land; 3 the great trials which your eyes have seen, those great signs and wonders. 4 Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear. 5 I have led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandal has not worn out on your foot. 6 You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or strong drink, in order that you might know that I am the Lord your God. 7 When you reached this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out to meet us for battle, but we defeated them; 8 and we took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of the Manassites. 9 So keep the words of this covenant to do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.
10 “You stand today, all of you, before the Lord your God: your chiefs, your tribes, your elders and your officers, even all the men of Israel, 11 your little ones, your wives, and the alien who is within your camps, from the one who chops your wood to the one who draws your water, 12 that you may enter into the covenant with the Lord your God, and into His oath which the Lord your God is making with you today, 13 in order that He may establish you today as His people and that He may be your God, just as He spoke to you and as He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
14 “Now not with you alone am I making this covenant and this oath, 15 but both with those who stand here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God and with those who are not with us here today 16 (for you know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the midst of the nations through which you passed; 17 moreover, you have seen their abominations and their idols of wood, stone, silver, and gold, which they had with them); 18 so that there will not be among you a man or woman, or family or tribe, whose heart turns away today from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of those nations; that there will not be among you a root bearing poisonous fruit and wormwood. 19 It shall be when he hears the words of this curse, that he will boast, saying, ‘I have peace though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart in order to destroy the watered land with the dry.’ 20 The Lord shall never be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the Lord and His jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse which is written in this book will rest on him, and the Lord will blot out his name from under heaven. 21 Then the Lord will single him out for adversity from all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant which are written in this book of the law.
22 “Now the generation to come, your sons who rise up after you and the foreigner who comes from a distant land, when they see the plagues of the land and the diseases with which the Lord has afflicted it, will say, 23 ‘All its land is brimstone and salt, a burning waste, unsown and unproductive, and no grass grows in it, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and in His wrath.’ 24 All the nations will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land? Why this great outburst of anger?’ 25 Then men will say, ‘Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt. 26 They went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods whom they have not known and whom He had not allotted to them. 27 Therefore, the anger of the Lord burned against that land, to bring upon it every curse which is written in this book; 28 and the Lord uprooted them from their land in anger and in fury and in great wrath, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.’
29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.

Restoration Promised

30 “So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the Lord your God has banished you, 2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, 3 then the Lord your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back. 5 The Lord your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.
6 “Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live. 7 The Lord your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8 And you shall again obey the Lord, and observe all His commandments which I command you today. 9 Then the Lord your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the Lord will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; 10 if you obey the Lord your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul.
11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.

Choose Life

15 “See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. 17 But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it. 19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
